ESA - Burial 10
February 2020
Negative Gain
ESA (Electronic Substance Abuse) is back with a new full length album, "Burial 10".
words by George Fakinos
Rhythmic Industrial Noise at its best? Hell yeah. Truth be told, “The Sea & The Silence” and (especially) 2009’s “The Immaculate Manipulation” stand out on the ESA catalogue. Long gone are the ambient and tribal This Morn Omina-like moments of the past and it looks like mastermind Jamie Blacker is heading to a more extreme direction.
Not a bad thing at all of course, as fans of Noise subgenre will definitely love it. I just miss some of the most atmospheric elements of the past .
When the human behind the machine decides to lower the BPMs something magical like “You Are Safe Here” (featuring Caitlin Strokes of Corlyx) happens. The title track is also awesome too and i reckon “Burial 10” will end up as one of the best albums of 2020.
