SpankTheNun - Initial Decay Control
January 2020
Indepedent - Self Release
SpankTheNun released their first full length album, "Initial Decay Control".
words by George Fakinos
There’s something quite nostalgic about this album. You close your eyes and you think you’re back in the late 80s/early 90s. Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Leather Strip and even Project Pitchfork are clear influences in every single track.
They don’t always succeed , but when they do ( “Swallow”, “Kill X 3”, “Dance, Fight Or Die” ) it looks like they’re having potential (EBM) dance floor hits in their hands.
Also, add Scott Fox of iVardensphere as a producer who (without a doubt) sharpens their sound. As for the album cover , it looks so naive, so childish and amateurish, but that’s just me after all, the perfectionist in me and i guess other people wouldn’t bother.
So, where are we gonna dance to this?
