Today's Sound: Ritual Howls - Dark Ceiling In Tennessee
New single from Ritual Howls, "Dark Ceiling In Tennessee", out of the upcoming album, "Virtue Falters"!
Ritual Howls unveils the first single out of their new full length album, "Virtue Falters", coming out on May 12th, via Felte Records.
The Detroit based trio is back with an amazing dark sound creating "a cinematic blend of twangy industrial rock, metal, noise, baritone vocals, and macabre lyrics". "Dark Ceiling In Tennessee" is the first "taste" of their new fifth album having the hypnotic but powerful gothic, industrial ambience, mystical, gloomy and wrothy at the same time.
Ritual Howls consists of Paul Bancell (vocals, guitar), Chris Samuels (synth, samples, drum machine) and Ben Saginaw (bass). "Dark Ceiling In Tennessee" builds a haunting sound about fragile souls and mind games while built upon Bancell's deep, emotional vocals, the strong bass lines of Saginaw and Samuels' dark stomping beats.
"The Detroit trio’s fifth album is eight tracks of what we’ve come to expect from the always in form group – a cinematic blend of twangy industrial rock, metal, noise, baritone vocals, and macabre lyrics –but with an immediate urgency not yet seen from the band on past albums. It’s their most focused album to date."
.
"Dark Ceiling In Tennessee" comes with an official video perfectly visualizing the atmosphere of the sound and the depressive melancholy in the upbeat tempo that Ritual Howls wants to express through the first single of "Virtue Falters". Video is directed and edited by Michael A. Flanagan, known from his work in horror and thriller movies and TV series, like "Doctor Sleep" and "Midnight Mass".
