Dark electro rock, Dead Decade unveils new official video for "Something More" track!
Dead Decade is the new project of London based producer Tommy Anarchic. The project make futurist darkwave with elements of shoegaze, techno, post-punk and industrial. Motorik beats urgently frame tales of haunted, neon drenched late nights and the cold, anxious mornings afterwards. The live shows feature an intense and unforgettable performance by singer Tommy Anarchic.
"Something More" is taken out of the EP, "24 Hour Last One Left", released in February 2023 and perfectly blends electro mood, synth and beats with roots in a Depeche Mode era with beautiful noisy industrial guitar riffs creating the dark soundscapes, while Tommy Anarchic's deep vocals completes the sober synth-gaze tune.
The video for Something More was shot in two brutally hot days around the ghostly desolation of The Salton Sea in the California desert. It follows the protagonist as he navigates this wasteland, seemingly the last person left in the world but clinging on to the hope that Something More is out there somewhere. The song itself deals with themes of longing, lust and hedonistic obsession, with never being satisfied - never wanting the party to end, even though it brings a slow destruction of the self with it.
The Salton Sea is a former luxury resort which has since been abandoned as 60 years of chemical runoff from the nearby farms has turned the lake into a highly toxic ecological mess. Dead Decade wanted to capture the barren beauty of the empty buildings and some of the sculptures on the beach, which have ben left by artists over the years. The story of The Salton Sea has many parallels with the themes of the song - excess giving way to a prolonged tragic deterioration.
The EP “24 Hour Last One Left” is out now. It explores haunted, neon drenched late nights and the cold, anxious mornings afterwards.
