US based project NOIR to release new EP!

NOIR releases new EP, "A Pleasure" in November 2019!

The project of a man who, with his music and his work, has a great impact to the dark electro and industrial scene, Athan Maroulis's NOIR, will release their new EP later in November.

NOIR will be back on November 15th with their new EP, "A Pleasure", coming out on Metropolis Records.

Athan Maroulis will always be linked to the unique sound and voice of the legendary Spahn Ranch, a band that through five diverse albums pounded the 1990s Industrial scene with a daring mix of intelligent electronics and darkwave moods. Athan had also joined Black Tape For A Blue Girl for a pair of albums followed by tours both in the U.S. and in Europe. NOIR was formed as a project that would combine both Athan's Industrial and Gothic past while remaining very much in the electronic present. NOIR were formed in 2012 and a year later the first full length album "Darkly Near" was released, followed by "RE:MIT:TENT" in November 2014, that featured songs from Darkly Near remixed by the likes of Assemblage 23, Dead Voices On Air, Ludovico Technique, Decoded Feedback and many others. NOIR's fourth release was "The Burning Bridge", an EP that is dedicated to David Bowie and it was followed by "Reburning" EP which included remixes of "The Burning Bridge".

Now the New York City-based NØIR will be releasing a 6 song e.p. entitled "A Pleasure," their first new material since 2017.

NØIR's  sophisticated brand of dark electronic music is led by the croon of vocalist Athan Maroulis (Spahn Ranch, Black Tape for a Blue Girl) and features programmer/producer Erik Gustafson (Adoration Destroyed, Grendel), keyboardist/vocalist Kai Irina Hahn (The Sedona Effect) and keyboardist/vocalist Demetra Songs. "A Pleasure" includes the lead song "A Pleasure to Burn" with remixes by FIRES as well as the band Seeming along with a new song entitled "Luxury," co-written by Jean-Marc Lederman (The Weathermen) and features cellist Tracey Moth (Antidote for Annie).

Dedicated to famed English actress Julie Christie, this release also features a cover of Fad Gadget's "Back To Nature." "A Pleasure," will be released digitally by Metropolis Records on November 15th and will be supported by a string of select NØIR live dates.

The remix to the "A Pleasure to Burn" by FIRES is already available in the latest Side-Line compilation, "Face The Beat: Session 5".
