DEAD LIGHTS - Transform (Metamorphosis Mix)

Electronic glam goth remixed in "Transform (Metamorphosis Mix)" by Dead Lights!

"Transform (Metamorphosis Remix)" by Dead Lights is a striking fusion of electro, EBM, synth-pop, and industrial elements, getting into their glam goth flair that sets it apart from typical club tracks. The project, a collaboration between two musician-producers, Saul and Richard, from the Netherlands and the UK, delivers a dark, pulsating remix that brims with energy and attitude. The track opens with a driving bassline and heavy, distorted synths that immediately establish a brooding, industrial atmosphere. As the beat kicks in, the song’s EBM roots come to life, propelling the listener into a danceable, high-energy space while maintaining its sinister undertones. The glam goth style subtly seeps through, adding a theatrical edge that contrasts with the track's harsher industrial textures.

Dead Lights comment on "Transform (Metamorphosis Mix)": "‘Transform’ muses on how we all change over time. Our lives are in a constant state of flux. If we stop to look back at each decade of our life, we see that things change as much as they stay the same. On a personal level, there’s a section of us that doesn’t exist anymore. That’s terrifying as much as it is liberating."

The people we grew up with can be barely recognisable, we all take different paths in life, and that shapes and moulds us into different people over time. This can be a change for the worse, other times it’s more positive. We’re dying and being reborn, over and over again, until we’re something (or someone) else.

Vocally, the remix enhances the original's sense of transformation, with haunting, robotic vocals layered over the intricate production. The lyrics about metamorphosis feel like a reflection of both personal and artistic evolution, perfectly fitting the gritty, evolving soundscape. The combination of sharp electronic beats, moody synth melodies, and darker industrial soundscapes makes "Transform (Metamorphosis Remix)" a captivating and dynamic track that pulls from multiple genres while maintaining cohesion. Dead Lights succeeds creates futuristic and their sound is deeply rooted in the darker, theatrical corners of electronic music, making this remix an addictive blend of grit, glamour, and transformation.

Disguised as dark and filthy electropop, DEAD LIGHTS create their own personal blend of monumental synth bass lines and gritty sounds, elaborate vocal arrangements and brutal, dance-orientated beats. Imagine NITZER EBB, FRONT 242, NERO, and THE PRODIGY jamming in a Victorian cemetery at midnight, illuminated by ultraviolet moonlight. DEAD LIGHTS presents modern EBM moulded into catchy songs with surgical precision. Bass-heavy, buzzing magnetism with pummeling, yet groovy, mechanical rhythms. All this delivered with an ’80s UK synth-pop, glamgoth flair and an urgency that is tangible.

Founded in 2020, the international duo (UK and NL) immediately found themselves separated by the sea and a pandemic. Connected through a lust for dark electronic dance music, Saul and Richard still managed to make an impact with their output.
