Low Blows - Go!
"Go!" by Low Blows, produced by Matteo Vallicelli (The Soft Moon’s drummer), is a track that channels the intensity of post-punk!
With the gloomy atmosphere of gothic and dark wave. From the outset, the song stands out with its driving, relentless bassline and sharp, angular guitar riffs. Vallicelli’s production brings a raw yet polished edge, where each instrument cuts through the mix with precision, creating a dense and immersive soundscape. The beautiful vocals add to the sense of urgency and tension, conveying a blend of melancholy expressing an emotional depth.
Low Blows says about "Go!": "Our new single "Go!", produced by Matteo Vallicelli of The Soft Moon, speaks about the ephemeral nature of life and how we want to continue living it our way, despite all the prejudices and obstacles that arise as it fades away."
"Go!" manages to capture the essence of classic post-punk while infusing it with a modern energy. The dark, hypnotic beats, reminiscent of Vallicelli's work with The Soft Moon, add a sense of mechanical rhythm. Low Blows balances the cold, industrial elements with an emotional undercurrent, creating a sound that is both aggressive and introspective.
Low lows is a post-punk band with Manchester and industrial influences, but with a sound that is neither dark nor punk incorporating electronic and shoegaze sounds, influenced by bands like The Cure and The Soft Moon. Low Blows believe in creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. As romantics, their past single "Fiction" was a dreamlike description of their lives. As existentialists, their recent single “I Hate” was a reflection of the fateful recent years they have lived through, with a global crisis that ranges from rights to inequity, peace to war, health to the pandemic and education to disinformation.
Their single "Misleading Blind" was written during the pandemic and post-pandemic, when they thought they should write something not related to any kind of celebration. It's sad, yet ferocious and cathartic. It wass released the 29th of September, along with a video made by Mar Ordonez.
