Pain In The Yeahs - Petrified, an electrified, joyful post-punk
Pain In The Yeahs delivers an electrified joy through dark beats!
Pain in the Yeahs is the main artistic vehicle for Virginia, US native and former hardcore/metalcore vocalist James K Ultra. The project started in 2014 and combines elements of Synthpop, Darkwave, Postpunk, Bedroom Pop and Electronic Rock. The music is influenced by bands like The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, Cold Cave, The Faint, MGMT, A Place to Bury Strangers, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Nine Inch Nails, Placebo, LCD Soundsystem, etc.
"Petrified" could be described as a sound experience that resonates with energy and vitality through some dark landscapes. There is sweet, 80s-like, innocence in the way that this song moves towards the end. As the song progresses, layers of emotional variety build, creating a sound that is both satisfying and promising. Vocals has this warm and dark feel, perfectly matching the "Petrified" atmosphere.
"Petrified" is the S/T track of the "Petrified" EP, released on January 19th and includes more tracks, "You Can't Scare Me", "IKYKIK" and "Theme For Underdog"!
