Synthpop duo, Krimea, releases second single "Die-monds"
Italian synthpop duo, Krimea, unveils second single from upcoming album "Are You Human?", titled "Die-monds"!
Krimea is the Venice based synth duo, consisting of Alice Taylor and Nick SoLow and few days before 2026, they released their second single, coming out of their new album, "Are You Human?", to be released later this year.
"Die-monds" is one of these tracks that can shape a smile on your face while it delivers a strong message, leading to intense emotions and melancholy. The story is simple and nasty, a girl obsessed with money and status, hanging around shady wealth while conveniently ignoring the blood and sweat behind the diamonds she craves. The title’s wordplay says it all. Shine equals death.
Musically, "Die-monds" is pure synthpop creation. A captivating lead synth drives the track forward, weaving effortlessly through tight verses and growing choruses powered by a pulsating bass line. While not an uptempo, keeping the beats in 120bpm, "Die-monds" is instantly catchy, showing that tempo isn’t everything when groove and emotions are made to dance. The “toy-like” sounds highlights Krimea's sound, bringing in cynical innocence into a song that is anything but innocent.
Alice Taylor’s backing vocals add a melancholic glow, reinforcing the contrast between sound sweetness and lyrical bleakness. "Die-monds" is smart, stylish, and unsettling, turning dancefloor-ready synthpop into a reflection of the darker side of modern society.

Alice Taylor says: “When I first listened to the rhytmics of Die-monds I thought I could use my old synth Poly800 II, whose sounds represent the “naif” simplicity I wanted to obtain from the song; at the same time, we were looking for a fair melodic range which could best represent the title, a sort of rainbow of lights in a new sound context with melancholic hints, to serve the lyrics, that aim to supply, in a few lines, a desolated shot of the wealthy society, through the triad girl - moneybags - miners”
