Creux Lies unveils new single "Frozen"

Creux Lies are back after 2 years with a new single.

"Frozen" was released on Friday, December 13th and is the result of the integration of different musical styles into the sound of the Sacramento quartet. The Californian group consisting of Ean Clevenger (vocals/programming), Barry Crider (guitar), Kyle Vorst (bass), and the newest member, Jon Mak (synths/drums) does not hesitate to experiment with elements from new romantic sounds to modern electro techniques and cleverly used effects. They incorporate all of this into the extremely emotional dark wave new wave sound that has been their origin sound all these years.

Ean Clevenger delivers with emotion that stirs your mind and heart, putting in the necessary nerve whenever necessary. "Frozen" is the ultimate new, dark wave club banger that will transport you to an 80's dancefloor but with a strong "back to the future" feel since the clever composition makes it stand among the best singles of the year.

The production of "Frozen" is impeccable and very well layered while as Creux Lies say, "production elements inspired by some of our favorite 80’s hip-hop tracks - lot’s of analog synths on this one." A big role in the new elements of Creux Lies’ sound seems to have been played by the newest member of the band, Jon Mak, who incorporated new ideas that opened new paths and different dimensions for the California based act.

Cruex Lies say about Frozen: ""Frozen" showcases this evolution beautifully, combining dark, atmospheric melodies with infectious rhythms that invite you to both reflect and dance. The interplay of haunting vocals and rich synth layers draws you in, while the nod to 80s hip hop production adds a unique twist that sets this track apart. We can't wait for you to experience this journey with us as we move forward and join us in celebrating the vibrant intersection of goth culture and contemporary sounds. Get ready to embrace a fogged out floor with us soon."

Creux Lies’ new single Frozen is a captivating dive into the shadows of dark wave, where reverb-soaked guitars and lushly layered synths intertwine with an irresistible post-punk rhythm. Ean Clevenger's evocative vocals cut through the icy atmosphere, evoking a mix of melancholy and urgency. The interplay between Barry Crider's shimmering guitar lines and Jon Mak's dynamic synth creates a textured soundscape, while Kyle Vorst's pulsing bassline anchors the track with a brooding intensity. "Frozen" masterfully marries nostalgia and modernity.
