Norwegian post-punk, cold wave project released the new video, single "Syndrome"!
Norwegian post-punk act Antipole have dropped Syndrome - the first single to be featured on the forthcoming album titled Radial Glare. The new song, featuring Paris Alexander on vocals, follows the critically acclaimed debut album Northern Flux (2017).
Antipole (the moniker of Karl Morten Dahl, Norway) has teamed up with long-time collaborators Paris Alexander and Eirene and in addition Marc Lewis (The Snake Corps) to record Antipole's sophmore album.
Even though based on Karl's evocative, hypnotic and melancholic style (guitars and bass) all songs have been co-written by Karl with Marc, Alexander and Eirene respectively. The latter three (London/Brighton, UK) have written all lyrics for the album. The album is produced by Paris Alexander of Blue Door Studio.
With "Syndrome", Karl focus once again in his main influences. Elements from some of the pioneering acts of post-punk can be distinguished, but Karl and Antipole redefines the cold, post-punk term and style to its present form. New single is an absolutely emotional and cold song, creating a dark melancholic ambience. The cold guitar riffs are perfectly bound with voice of Paris Alexander and develop this tension and dark feelings, already recognizable from previous Antipole's releases.
"Syndrome" video represents in the best way, all these feelings that the music expresses. Filmed in black and white, using a nature scenery, performed in a forest while the two dancers Anne-Christel and Nina Florry highlight the 80's post-punk influences of the song .
With a numerous participation and contributions to a number of other bands, like Clan of Xymox, Kill Shelter or IAMTHESHADOW, with remixes and featuring,Antipole has now been established as one of the main representatives of the modern post-punk wave. Sharp, clean guitars, melodic and emotional compositions, vocals and lyrics.
Antipole is guitar-driven evocative hypnotic post-punk/wave mixed with synths and drum machines and is the project of Karl Morten Dahl, of Trondheim, Norway.
Antipole contributed to Kill Shelter’s “In Decay” taken from the debut album “Damage” as well as IAMTHESHADOW’s “The Skin” taken from last year’s “Embracing the Fall” release.
Antipole and Paris Alexander have remixed Geometric Vision, Buzz Kull, Clan of Xymox, IAMTHESHADOW, Hante., In Letter Form, Agent Side Grinder and more.
Radial Glare is set for release through Young & Cold Records (CD/LP). CD drops 15.September and LP 1.November.
