PINK TURNS BLUE release new single "Stay For The Night", out of new album
"Stay For The Night" is out with an official video, on January 101th!
PINK TURNS BLUE are back in 2025 with a full length album, titled "Black Swan" and scheduled to be released on February.
Marking 40 years since their foundation, iconic post-punk band presents their new single "Stay For The Night", the second single from their new "Black Swan" album (out February 28), following "Black Swan (But I Know There Is More to Life)". "Black Swan" album, to be released on limited edition vinyl, CD and digitally via Orden Records.
"Stay For The Night" goes upper in tempo than the first single of the new album, leaving the deep emotional dark alternative ballad soundscape to more danceable beats and post-punk sharp guitars. "Stay For The Night" is a modern dark alternative rock hit that honours the enormous history of the German post-punk pioneers. PINK TURNS BLUE formed in1985 and "Black Swan" come in their 40 years anniversary, to leave a mark for the band, that stays upon the lines that made them one of the most iconic and beloved bands of the genre while introducing, once again, their new ideas and modern sound arrangements.
PINK TURNS BLUE's debut album "If Two Worlds Kiss", originally released in 1987, advanced the darkwave sub-genre while becoming a seminal post-punk album. Emerging from the fear and uncertainty of a divided Cold War Germany and inspired by Joy Division, The Sound and The Chameleons, they have since released a dozen full-length LPs and have become known for their trademark blend of post-punk, alternative rock and new wave.
"Stay For The Night" official video is an elegant video that perfectly depicts the lyrics and the emotional instrumentation of the song, focusing on the beauty of being together with someone else, sharing love and friendship. It is a qualitive animated video changing from coloured images to duotone sketches and showing the need of a person to be with someone else, while the other, sometimes, would prefer to stay alone for a while or take some space.
Mic Jogwer comments on the new single: "'Stay for the Night' is meant for the dance floor. While we are an alternative rock band, founded in the post-punk era of the 80s, many of our fans wear black or dress as goths. And we often play in clubs that play darkwave music or goth rock at the after show party. The key message of the song is about unequal love, with one person wanting to leave the relationship or the group or going home instead of staying in the club with their (black-clad) friends and the other person asking to stay to sort things out, to give the relationship or the evening another chance,"
Mic also adds: "This is also a love song to the post-punk / goth rock community for being with all these years. Very often, we stay for the after-show party and immerse ourselves in the very open-minded and diverse dancing crowd. This is home. After the show, we can just close our eyes and float with the music and our friends... All we need is love. All we need is friends. Thank you so much for being with us. See you on the dance floor."
As of January 10, "Stay For The Night" is available everywhere, including Apple Music, Spotify, and Bandcamp. February 28 brings the release of the full "Black Swan" album - digitally on all streaming platforms with limited-edition vinyl and CD editions now available for pre-order.
