Loveblind - Sleeping Visions
March 2020
Saint Marie Records
A promising debut from an "international synthwave supergroup” , Loveblind.
words by George Fakinos
This albums feels like a friend you haven’t seen for ages, but the moment you meet him/her again, the familiarity and intimacy is there and no need for wasting time or explaining things.
By the moment "War Planets”, the first track of “Sleeping Visions” starts, you say Placebo cracking a smile. Then, you find out the rest of the influences : My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, Lush, so the dreampop/shoegaze element is obvious.
Yes, there are some fillers, but that can’t actually spoil the positive vibes.
“Sleeping Visions” is not a pioneering album. It won’t change your world, but it is one of the most honest and enjoyable I’ve heard in 2020.
