EMMON - Decisions
The new track from EMMON, named “Decisions,” is an electronic punch of EBM strength!
Concealed in a big, surprising pop refrain, "Decisions" fulfills the promise to "break rocks," delivering heavy, industrial-type percussion that pushes the rhythm with no stop. It is a fantastic sound. "Decisions" is taken out from EMMON's new album, "ICON", one of the best dark electronic, EBM album of the year. It was released as a single prior to album's release!
This music is true propulsive Electronic Body Music deep down, but its melody assures it is highly reachable and memorable at once. The correct choice to keep the vocals from the first demo session recordings gives big results, saving a primary, intense state which feeds the urgent nature of the track. Jukka Rintamäki's work collaboration introduces crucial tonal percussion, lifting the sound painting without losing the original feeling of being raw.
Lyrical themes in "Decisions" investigate the disconnection, which is paralyzing, between the desire for ambition and the act of doing. The song follows a high-level perfectionist person who achieves success everywhere but cannot execute the vital decisions which matter most, a perpetual, frozen, status quo moment is created. The powerful phrase, “You try to light the fire but never let it burn,” captures perfectly this main conflict of emotion.
The friction between the mechanical, cold rhythms and the passionate, high-reaching vocal performance is the biggest strength of “Decisions”. A key track that perfectly mixes dark electro power with the sensibility of the popular music.
