Draining Kiss delivers a haunting and introspective darkwave piece with "Blood Is Thicker".

With pulsing basslines and melancholic melodies, "Blood Is Thicker" conjures echoes of Depeche Mode, both musically and lyrically, reinforcing its introspective and defiant spirit. The vocals, are sober with tension, while guiding through a psychological reckoning, torn between blood connections and individual truth.

As the track unfolds, its slow-burning intensity transforms into righteous anger, culminating in a purging acceptance. "Blood Is Thicker" is a fusion of shadowy synths and deeply personal storytelling, making it a striking entry in Draining Kiss’s same-titled EP.

Draining Kiss is a darkwave synth project from solo musician Quinn Martin based in Gainesville Florida. Bringing together elements from classic '80s post-punk, darkwave, and new wave bands with a distinctly melodic and danceable approach and dark, introspective lyrics, he hopes to pay homage to those influences while blending them into something new and personal.
