"Spiritchaser" is the latest single from The Ultimate Dreamers!

The Ultimate Dreamers is a cold dark wave and post-punk quartet hailing from Belgium. We have our eyes and ears to these artists since their 2022 when their single "Polarized" was released and the four-piece band returned in action. Since then, many good things happened like their full-length album "Echoing Reverie", released on CD in March 2023 (Spleen+) and on vinyl in May 2023 (Wave Tension Records). In October 2023, "Echoing Reverie" finds its companion EP, "Violent Ghost", featuring revisited versions and remixes by Front 242, Shad Shadows and hørd.

Currently, the wait is coming to an end since their anticipated, sophomore full length album "Paradoxical Sleep" is about to be out, expected on February 7th via Spleen+ / Alfa Matrix. 

"Spiritchaser" is the second single out of "Paradoxical Sleep", released by the end of November 2024, and it has been one of the highlights that had been received by the end of the year. "Spiritchaser" followed the first single "Digging", released earlier, in September 2024. "Digging" was a perfect introduction to the new album, since The Ultimate Dreamers presented a solid track that blended some post-industrial, dark rock and heavy riffs with gloomy post-punk beats and ambience, expressing depressing melancholia. "Spiritchaser" is going into different path fro "Digging" keeping the coldness and the somber atmosphere while the sound is based on dynamic beats, in the form of the early Belgian EBM.

Above this, though, The Ultimate Dreamers keeps their cold wave and post-punk influences in font with a strong, intense bass line, enriched with the sharpness of the guitar riff and the melancholic voice of Frederic. All these elements creates a synth based, post-punk, dancefloor hit which sticks with the listener from the very beginning, filled with dark energy, ominous harrmonies and sinister tunes while the lyrics talk about relationships and exposure to toxic people on various situations and levels, and the need to escape from such connections or conditions.

"Spiritchaser" comes with the official video created by Amanita Noir, recorded in black and white, showcasing such conditions ranging from everyday routine to protesters fights and war imagery. While the video and the song moves on, we see that an escape and exit is found, presented by walks in nature and transforming the scenery from black and white to duotone and full colored in the end.

The Ultimate Dreamers are Bertrand (guitar), Fred (vocals, second bass guitar), Jo (bass guitar) and Sandrine (keyboards, cello). After the triumphant comeback of "Echoing Reverie" and an electrifying tour across Europe, the Belgian quartet THE ULTIMATE DREAMERS is back in 2025 with “Paradoxical Sleep” - an album of entirely new material that reaffirms their place in the heart of the alternative scene.
