Legendary gothic rock band Rosetta Stone returns with "Under The Weather"!

Rosetta Stone, one of the longest surviving bands that constitutes one of the trademarks of the second wave of gothic rock and its magnificent band line up, returns this year with a sensational new album, "Under The Weather", coming out on August 30 via Cleopatra Records. The beautiful, hard-hitting title track was released this week along with a captivating lyric video.

"Under The Weather" is a classic gothic rock track that manages to capture the moody, atmospheric essence the band is known for. The new single delivers the well-known intense guitars of Rosetta Stone, upon the pulsating bassline that gives the gloomy tone and deep, resonant vocals that transmit a sense of melancholy

"Under The Weather" comes with an official lyric video that gives emphasis to the dark, hypnotic, gothic experience with its bleak, shadowy visuals and haunting imagery.

As the lead single from their upcoming same titled album, "Under The Weather" signals a strong return for Rosetta Stone, after their 2020, last full length album, "Cryptology", leaving expectations for an album rich in gothic rock's timeless sound, using some of the elements that made Rosetta Stone a highlight band of dark alternative, goth rock scene.

Rosetta Stone are an English gothic rock band formed in the 1980s by Porl King (guitar/vocals/keyboards) and Karl North (bass), plus their drum machine and synthesizer rack nicknamed "Madame Razor".  Their early style and first album reflected the jangly-guitar sounds of 1980s gothic rock, and their first big break came after live gigs supporting the then already well-established band The Mission. The band then moved to a more electronic sound before disbanding in 1998. After time spent on different music projects, new Rosetta Stone material appeared in 2019 and 2020.

Rosetta Stone recorded their first full-length album, "An Eye for the Main Chance", releasing it in 1991. "An Eye For The Main Chance" is still one of the best debut gothic rock albums delivering all the dark mood and the strength of gothic rock, combining all the elements that made up the second wave of gothic rock. After the realese of the album, they also recruited Porl Young (current member of Massive Ego) as a second guitarist and toured extensively to promote it. 

The band signed with a fledgling Cleopatra Records in 1993, and together both label and band became the sparks for an international explosion of gothic music in the ‘90s!
