Metropolis Records announces the signing and debut album of Love Ghost x SKOLD
Love Ghost and alt-rock titan SKOLD sign to Metropolis Records for debut album!
Hot news arrive from Metropolis Records headquarters, with the announcement of a new signing for the legendary label. Love Ghost x SKOLD joins the US label announcing their debut eponymous album, scheduled for release on November 22, while the first single "Nightshade and Cocaine" will be available to the world on August 28th.

2023 brought the debut single from Love Ghost's collaboration with industrial / alt-rock legend Tim Skold (SKOLD, Shotgun Messiah, KMFDM, Marilyn Manson, Motionless in White) - 'Payback', which is an edgy, soul biting song about revenge and redemption. This creative partnership meshes the raw energy of grunge with the driving rhythms of industrial rock, embellished with pop and gothic sensibilities.
"Payback" is an explosive blend of industrial rock, alternative rock, and grunge, delivering a raw and intense musical experience. The track kicks off with a melodic turning to gritty, distorted guitar riff that sets a dark, aggressive tone, creating a turbulent soundscape. The industrial elements are getting slowly into the song and becoming evident in the mechanical, hard-hitting beats and layered electronic textures. The production is dense and powerful, skillfully balancing the raw edge of grunge with the precision of industrial rock. The collaboration between Love Ghost and SKOLD brings together a unique blend of influences, with SKOLD's industrial rock prowess complementing Love Ghost's indie rock, post-punk and grunge sensibilities.

Apart from releasing solo music as SKOLD and as half of the duo Not My God (with Nero Bellum), Swedish musician and record producer Tim Skold is best known for his work with KMFDM, Shotgun Messiah, Marilyn Manson, and Motionless in White. In addition to being a full-fledged band member of Marilyn Manson for several world tours, Skold produced their #1 Billboard US charting album 'The Golden Age of Grotesque', cover versions of 'Tainted Love', 'Personal Jesus' and the controversial album "Eat Me, Drink Me". He later co-produced two Motionless in White albums. As SKOLD, he has released several albums and toured extensively with Front Line Assembly and Motionless in White, among others.
Love Ghost is an enigmatic Los Angeles-based indie rock band, known for their distinctive blend of grunge, alternative rock and post-punk, informed by the Seattle tradition as much as Soundcloud-era fearlessness. Founded by vocalist-guitarist Finnegan Bell, the band quickly garnered attention for their mature lyrics, a multitude of collaborations and raw, energetic sound. They have toured extensively all over the world and have earned plaudits from such publications as Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, American Songwriter and New Noise.
"I met Tim Skold and his wife Erin on Halloween night at the Viper Room in Los Angeles. I was a massive fan of Skold, and I was surprised to see him there. I asked him if I could take a picture with him and was very excited when he said yes. To my surprise, Erin and him reached out about the possibility of us making music together. I was ecstatic about the opportunity. We have an electric synergy together, and Skold’s wisdom and creativity really pushed me to my fullest artistic potential. Creating the album with Skold, was a unique and magical experience," says Finnegan Bell.
Tim Skold adds, "I still remember meeting Finn the first time because of his almost electric energy but it was my wife Erin’s idea that he and I should make music together. I have worked with many different artists by now but this one is still a unique and refreshing experience. We came together with a special chemistry and I really feel that it is well represented in the music. The first single 'Nightshade and Cocaine' shows off an almost schizophrenic diversity that is a thread for the entire album."
As of August 28, the "Nightshade and Cocaine" single will be available everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp, where it can already be pre-ordered. The full "Love Ghost and SKOLD" album will be released on November 22nd.
